When the Big Five in Tech (Apple, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Alphabet) start making moves in a global market, it’s best we pay attention. That’s probably why it was so interesting to see Alphabet ditch their recent robo-agriculture venture Mineral after spinning it off from it’s labs as an independent venture just over a year ago. The company cited revenue as a reason behind the halt in support, but it makes us feel like these companies are product over people. Alas, the innovation won’t cease anytime soon, and perhaps a smaller, modular robo-device will fill the everyday needs of our future micro-grow setups in our homes. We can dream!
