It’s not too often that you stumble upon a black-owned establishment that’s unafraid to invest in the aesthetics involved in luxury cuisine, but that’s exactly what D.C. based restaurant Bronze has managed to execute in grand style. Concepted by Drummond Projects and opened in 2022, the layout is bright, sleek, and nails the mood as soon as guests hit the door.

The Drummond team describes the culinary offerings as a ”globalized menu representative of the travels of Alonzo Bronze, who traded spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques on behalf of Africa and its diasporic colonies.” It should come as no surprise that Washington D.C. is leading the charge in innovative black-led experience, as the country’s highest concentration of black professionals are in the area. When you’re in Chocolate City, be sure to stop by and get a taste of what Bronze is offering.
